CoEU Crisis Update 8- "Planning the terms of Peace"

Last night was a productive one for the deliberations for peace, as progress was made and an in-person meeting was finally scheduled. The negotiation meeting has been set for December 10 at 13:30 Greek time, in Kherson, near the current front line. Vladimir Chizhov and Vseovolod Chentsov are going to discuss the way in which conflict can be ended. They will be accompanied each with a group of generals and diplomats. According to Russian media reports, the Russian diplomat will come to the meeting with Putin's final demands, which if Ukraine and the EU accept, the “operation” will end within 10 days with the withdrawal of Russian troops happening immediately. As it sounds, Russia’s terms will be more demanding, as Vladimir Poutin is still dissatisfied with the cancellations of the Visas and is also not willing to black down on Ukraine’s codified neutrality, even considering Zelenskiy’s statements provocative. However, they seem to somewhat limit their territorial demands to basically the current frontline situation. Through public announcements at the Press before the diplomats’ meeting, Ukraine clarifies that they can and will join any organizations they deem appropriate, including the EU and NATO. Ukraine additionally declares that both NATO and EU want her as a member state. They are willing though to negotiate that term if it means they retain more of their territories. As a result, compromise for the two sides will be difficult and it seems that the stance of the EU will be crucial in the challenging task of mediation.
