Thracing on MIC Day #2 Recap

In Komotini’s School of Law, the tension remained at a very high level as the second day of the Thracing On MIC took place. More crises, more incidents and of course more debates were in the menu for very spiced discussions and arguments.

Wow! NATO has taken the debate procedure very seriously and that’s for sure!

First of all , it is common knowledge that the programme is the base of the conference, so the delegations started setting the agenda for yesterday’s crisis. Without objections NATO presented a public statement concerning the base in Norway. The decision describes his spirit, rules and optic.

After that, NATO was occupied with general topics. To be precise, the main concept of the discussion was the relations with China. The most valuable conclusion of the conversation was that almost all the delegations prefer the existence of peaceful relations with China in the base of new security rules. In the interim, the council believes that the cooperation with China is not a “piece of cake”. A positive result is the proposition of a variety of ideas.

Moreover, another motion brings up to the surface the need for a pattern ship between NATO and the European Union in order to eliminate the consequences of the war in Ukraine. The majority of the delegations expressed that Ukraine has their unlimited help.

Furthermore, a new crisis appeared.

The main topic? << Focus on the balkans>>.

To illustrate this, NATO had the responsibility to focus on a violent operation which took place in Kosovo. A Serbian patriotic organization “took the law in her hands”. NATO supported that it will not accept such a violent treatment. In particular, Serbia explained that the residents are in danger and there is an emergency to cooperate with all her allies. Diplomatic deliberations and military balance are precious. The truth is that after numerous contradictory conversations, especially one of them had as a concept the «exile» of Serbia,the council achieved to reach the point of success, more precisely: the combination of diplomacy and assertiveness.

The delegations have accomplished the absolute balance between the daily agenda and the crisis.

For starters, today’s crisis caused a valuable brainstorming concerning the communication between the President of Russia, the president of Ukraine and the European council Union. Vladimir Putin had decided to negotiate the end of the operation on Ukraine. There are various details that have to be analyzed such as the financial profit of Ukrainian oil and gas. The committee made clear that it will not tolerate any disrespect to the Ukrainian residents because of his goal, peace.

Specifically, France, Italy and the Netherlands explain that the conflict has a great need for a solution. “The priority is the protection of human rights”, based in that line the council is open to negotiations under the obligation of new service policy.

The tension is noticeable and the ministers are trying to find a mutual argument. “Russia will do anything to win this war, we have to be realistic and strict.”The independence of the nations is a key-solution. The committee paused the conversation for today in a positive atmosphere and with one goal: the action.

Today’s CoE session was interrupted by an unforeseen incident, the abduction of the Ukrainian delegate, who was in his car with the delegate of Romania. This event captured international attention, and a discussion was being held about the event. Naturally, Romania denied any involvement in the abduction and strongly condemned the action . In fact, Romania criticized the western nations for turning a blind eye to the security needs of eastern states, such as Ukraine and Romania, while Turkey promoted the involvement of NATO and France promoted rule of law, human rights and democracy.

In the interim, ICJ had remarkable sessions which concluded in a peaceful climate. The delegations were extremely practiced and the board made only positive comments.

At the same time, in the UNGA session a discussion took place about the abduction of Ukrainian politician Dovgopol. Russia supported military measures in order to liberate the politician while Moldova claimed that they are investigating the incident. However, the UK boldly accused Russia of the abduction and its unjustified actions, while urging for further investigation .

At the end of the day, the majority of committees finished their responsibilities-tasks so the boards decided to join in the game of Thracing MIC, which concluded with funny notes and candies. This moment contributed to the whole “bonding” process.

On the whole,perspicacity-debate-solution. Today, this was the “three-step plan” which was followed by the delegates in order to reach their expectations. “Fierce” is the most suitable adjective to characterize this day. Topics, agenda, crisis and updates created a new whole experience. The participants were ready to chill and enjoy their evening. They had the chance to create unique memories in OMNIA NIGHTCLUB.

For one more time, the delegates proved that they are not satisfied with mediocrity and they chase the perfect.
