The de facto nation of Transnistria has stated through a referendum in 2006 that it wants to unite with the Russian Federation. In case this occurs, the war with Ukraine will take an entirely different form, since its geostrategic angle will drastically change. On the other hand, Moldova is becoming more and more drawn to the west than the east.

In the other front, the inspection team of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which had departed during the evening of December 7th has just arrived in Zaporizhzhya to visit and inspect the Nuclear Power Plant’s condition. Allegedly Russian troops ambushed and attacked the team of the International Atomic Energy Agency; there is still no information on the team’s state.
Before that, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, had noted that:
"the occupation of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant area in Ukraine by the Russian military is very dangerous" - all that just at the mark of thirty-six years since the nuclear accident.
