UNGA Crisis Update 5- “In times of trouble”

The mayor of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsc since 2016, Oleg Anatolievich Dovgopol has been kidnapped on the 7th. He was last seen leaving his apartment in the morning, in order to commute to his workplace (7:45 p.m.). Nothing has yet to be confirmed, but Russian officials point the finger to a paramilitary force called “звільнення” (meaning Liberation in Ukrainian). The group has participated in multiple attacks against the Russian forces in Ukraine and it is believed that they now want to target Transnistria, as it is the “home” of certain Russian units.

Ukraine denies all such claims, whereas the “Liberation” force has neither confirmed nor denied such information. Usually, they give updates in regards to their moves through a social media platform, but on this occasion they have remained silent.

Exactly 2 days after, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba suffered a few injuries, due to a bombing mechanism that was placed in his car. No one else was injured, whilst the Minister’s life was saved from great peril, due to a defect in the bombing mechanism, which resulted to an early explosion and thus a tragedy was averted.
