UNGA Crisis Update 6- "Set free"

The mayor of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsc has been released from captivity. He does not show signs of physical abuse or torture. He gave the following statement to the media:

“I was held captive for 1 day and a half. This tells me that the act was one of intimidation, in order to ensure that fear is the hand that guides us through these tumultuous times. In Transnistria, we shall not let fear be the rod of a blind man walking. We will defend what is ours.” He also informed the authorities that while he was captive, the people responsible made him listen to countless hours of the Ukrainian anthem, while they spoke of liberation and freedom for the Ukrainian people. Russian officials have set up a meeting with Transnistria’s president, Vadim Krasnoselsky, in order to proceed with diplomatic means and assert the situation going forward, with a possible involvement in a military collaboration exercise in January of 2023.
